Chaddi Gang Scare | Hyderabad, Sept. 28: Panic gripped residents of an apartment complex in Manikonda after six suspected members of a so-called ‘Chaddi gang’ allegedly broke into a flat and fled with valuables in the early hours of Sunday.
The incident took place at Flotilla Apartments in Neknampur at around 3:20 am. According to reports, the suspects allegedly cut through fencing near the lakeside to enter the apartment complex.
The group reportedly reached C Block and broke into a flat before escaping with valuables. When a resident confronted the suspects, they allegedly threatened the person and attempted to attack with weapons.
The incident caused panic among residents, who alerted the police soon after the suspects fled.
Cyberabad Police Examine CCTV Footage
Police have begun collecting information from residents and examining CCTV footage from the apartment complex. Investigators are attempting to identify the suspects and trace their movements before and after the burglary.
The Narsingi police are also looking into how the suspects entered the premises and whether the group could be linked to similar burglaries in the area.
The term ‘Chaddi gang’ is commonly used in media and police reports for burglary groups whose members may cover their faces and wear minimal clothing while committing crimes. The label does not necessarily establish that the suspects belong to one organised gang.
