Hyderabad, Sept. 28: A woman allegedly escaped an attempted sexual assault by a cab driver near Kotwalguda on the outskirts of Hyderabad, close to the site associated with the 2019 Disha case.
According to information available, the woman, from Shivaji Nagar in Devarakonda, was travelling by cab towards Shamshabad when the driver allegedly changed the route near the Tondupally toll plaza.
The driver reportedly took her to an isolated location near Kotwalguda, where he allegedly attempted to sexually assault her.
The woman managed to get out of the vehicle and raised an alarm. The driver allegedly fled after snatching her bag, which reportedly contained Rs 60,000 in cash.

The woman later approached the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police, who registered a case and launched an investigation.
Police have formed special teams to trace the suspected driver. Further details about the cab, the suspect and the exact circumstances of the incident are awaited.
The location is close to the area associated with the 2019 Disha case. A veterinary doctor was sexually assaulted and killed near Tondupally on November 27, 2019. The reference to that case relates to the location and does not indicate any connection between the two incidents.
RGIA police have jurisdiction over areas including Kothwalguda and other parts of the Shamshabad zone.
