Hyderabad: Chandrayangutta Police traced and returned 32 lost mobile phones to their owners in the city. The recovery followed complaints from several individuals who had reported losing their gadgets at different places over a period of time.
The police acted after receiving multiple complaints about missing mobile phones. According to ACP Chandrayangutta Sudhakar, officers began efforts to trace the devices soon after registering the cases. The initiative focused on identifying and locating the lost phones using technical tools.
Chandrayangutta Police use IMEI to trace mobiles
Meanwhile, the crime teams at the Chandrayangutta police station tracked the devices using their IMEI numbers. “Based on the IMEI number, the phones were traced by the crime teams of the police station. After the recovery of the gadgets handed over to the owner of the property on Saturday,” he said.
The police later completed the recovery process and returned the mobile phones to their respective owners. The handover took place on Saturday after verification of ownership. The action brought relief to those who had lost their gadgets.
According to officials, the tracing of mobile phones required coordinated efforts by the crime teams. The police used available technical data to locate the devices. As a result, they successfully restored 32 mobile phones to the complainants.
The Chandrayangutta Police said they had received complaints from different persons regarding the loss of their gadgets. They then initiated steps to track the devices and ensure their return. The recovery highlights the role of IMEI-based tracking in tracing lost or missing mobile phones.
