Hyderabad: Congress Municipal Elections have sparked a fresh political row after former minister and Sanathnagar MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav accused the ruling party of winning by distributing liquor and money. He made these remarks during a media conference held at the Siddipet MLA camp office.
Talasani alleged that the Congress committed many atrocities during the municipal elections. He claimed the party wasted huge amounts of money and liquor to secure victory. Moreover, he accused the Congress of being built on lies and coming to power through false promises.
Meanwhile, he said the Congress government is misusing power and obstructing the police. He stated that the party won the municipal elections blindly and slowly. However, he praised BRS workers for fighting bravely and winning in several areas.
He further said that governments are not permanent but people are. Therefore, he predicted that voters will teach the Congress a lesson in the next Assembly elections. He also claimed that there is no record of the Congress building even a single project. In addition, he alleged that RTC offered free tickets to women but doubled fares for men.
Later, Talasani recalled what he described as achievements during KCR’s rule. He said achieving Telangana statehood was a remarkable event. He added that several projects were built to develop Telangana in all sectors. He also said that in the past, farmers suffered due to lack of water and electricity. According to him, KCR supported farmers when they faced crop price issues.
He further stated that during his time in the TDP, there was no electricity for more than five hours. However, he claimed that under the present Congress government, the real estate sector has collapsed. He said land prices had risen sharply during KCR’s rule but have now fallen. He also praised Harish Rao for developing Siddipet effectively.
