Hyderabad, Sept. 11 (Maxim News): Two women suffered serious injuries after a speeding Volkswagen allegedly hit them near Asha Hospital on Banjara Hills Road No. 14 here on Friday.

The incident reportedly involved a young man and woman who were allegedly travelling under the influence of alcohol.

The vehicle was reportedly moving at high speed when it struck the two women.

Ranjana Roy, 32, suffered critical injuries in the crash. The second woman also sustained serious injuries.

Emergency teams shifted both injured women to NIMS for treatment. Doctors are monitoring their condition.

The crash occurred near Asha Hospital, a busy stretch in Banjara Hills. The incident has raised fresh concerns about speeding and suspected drunk driving on city roads.

Police Probe Into Banjara Hills Crash Underway

Authorities are expected to establish the exact circumstances of the collision. They may examine CCTV footage from the area and record statements from witnesses.
Police may also verify whether alcohol consumption played a role in the crash. Further details about the driver, the vehicle and any possible legal action remain awaited.
The condition of Ranjana Roy remains critical, according to the initial information. Officials have not yet released further details about the second injured woman.
The case also highlights the risks posed by speeding in densely populated parts of Hyderabad. Road No. 14 in Banjara Hills sees regular traffic, particularly around commercial and medical establishments.
