Hyderabad, July 12 (Maxim News): Cheneta Chaitanya Vedika, is organizing it’s 29th Chenetha Santha – Handloom Weavers’ Market, at Nagarjuna nagar community hall, Ameerpet here from July 12 to 14. The Vedika is a non profit, non-registered platform created to promote the cause of the Handloom weavers, has been organizing a regular market called Chenetha Santha for the weavers once in 2 months in Hyderabad since January 2015, to enable weavers to have direct access to consumers so that it can help them enhance their sales and benefit them directly.
Why handloom? – Because it doesn’t use electricity – it is an eco friendly fabric, also because only natural fibers are used. The production and consumption of energy from fossil fuels is the biggest cause of global warming. Thus using handloom is not just an option but is a necessity in these days of climate change. Also in the hot weather conditions that we have in India, Handloom fabrics are also skin friendly and are the true breathable fabrics. They are good for health and good for the environment besides increasing livelihoods.
