Hyderabad, March 29 (Maxim News): Chilkur Balaji Temple and Helping Hand Foundation have appealed to the public not to panic and follow the rules and regulations laid down by the State government and follow all the measures to keep everybody safe.
In a social message in public Interest, they said the general public must behave responsibly and not to strike fear among the public as the stigma will make our fight against COVID-19 tougher. In the present lockdown period, it is very important to follow the rules set by the government and behave responsibly. While the authorities were doing their job, but some people were not behaving responsibly.
Citing a few examples, Chilkur Balaji Temple and Helping Hand Foundation said some landlords are being hostile to their tenants, who were working in Health Care and forcing them to stay away or threatening to evict. Public was showing undue insensitivity and hostility to people, who are having cold, cough or whose houses have been marked for Self-Quarantine. Recently, an elderly person in Old City was targeted by locals, who called the Surveillance team and handed him over on suspicion of Corona Virus patient. Later the old man tested negative and died of mental trauma and agony. In another incident, a young lady, who flew down from Delhi, to see her ailing father was prevented from stepping out of the house by her landlady as she suspects that she and her father may have Corona Virus.
Local youth were making a mockery of people, who are being taken as suspects by the authorities, they are shooting videos and posting on social media. All these actions will spread more panic in the public and lead to stigma and eventually people who need help for reporting and treatment will keep everything hidden. (Maxim News)
