Hyderabad: Chinmaya Mission Amrit Mahotsav will be celebrated in Hyderabad on January 24 and 25, 2026, marking 75 years of the Mission’s spiritual, educational, and social service activities. The two day programme will take place at NTR Stadium, Hyderabad. It will bring together devotees, students, youth, and the general public to honour the life and vision of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda and the global work of Chinmaya Mission.
The celebrations will include mass participation events and special initiatives. Chinmaya Mission has planned the programme to reflect its long standing commitment to spiritual learning and nation building. Therefore, the Amrit Mahotsav will focus on the Mission’s journey and its role in spreading the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and the Upanishads in a practical manner.
Swami Chinmayananda, the founder of Chinmaya Mission, dedicated his life to making Vedanta accessible to common people. He began his first Gita jnana yajna in 1951 and later addressed audiences across India and abroad. Through clarity, insight, humour, and compassion, he inspired millions to live with values, courage, and service. Today, Chinmaya Mission functions as a global movement with more than 330 centres in 32 countries. Its work includes jnana yajnas, study groups, Balavihar for children, Chinmaya Yuva Kendra for youth, satsangs, and institutions in education, healthcare, rural development, and culture.
Chinmaya Mission Amrit Mahotsav also highlights the Mission’s present leadership. Swami Swaroopananda, the current Global Head, continues to guide the organisation’s expansion in value based education, youth engagement, and social service. Meanwhile, Chinmaya Mission Hyderabad has remained active for decades through regular classes, bhajans, satsangs, and outreach programmes across the city.

Chinmaya Mission Hyderabad President Mr Harish Kumar said the centre has been shaping values among thousands of children, youth, and adults through sustained efforts. Meanwhile, addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Chinmaya Mission Swami Incharge Swami Sarveshananda said, “As part of the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations in Hyderabad, 24th January will feature the inauguration of thematic stalls on Chinmaya Mission’s activities and a unique VR journey into the life and vision of Swami Chinmayananda. On 25th January, the focus will be a powerful collective experience with mass chanting of the 15th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, musical renditions, and large-scale participation of youth and school children.”
He added, “When we chant in unison the vibrations impact beyond the group and inspire and benefit the entire society. A special highlight will be Gita chanting by visually impaired participants, reflecting the inclusive ethos of the Mission. The event will also witness the unveiling of ‘Gita Panchamrit’ – Envisioned by Pujya Swami Tejomayanandaji – capturing the essence of entire Bhagavad Gitain 5 essential verses which we must all learn, spread and ‘live by’.”
