Chinna Reddy Appointed As Vice Chairman Of Telangana Planning Commission

Hyderabad, Feb 24 (Maxim News): Senior Congress leader and Former Minister G. Chinna Reddy has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of Telangana Planning Commission. The State government has issued orders to this extent.

Chinna Reddy, who has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Planning Commission, will hold the Cabinet status.

In the recently held Assembly elections, the Congress party announced the name of Chinna Reddy from Wanaparthy constituency. But in the meantime, the Congress party gave an opportunity to Megha Reddy by removing Chinna Reddy’s name. Megha Reddy won with a huge majority over Niranjan Reddy.

G. Chinna Reddy won three times as MLA from Wanaparthy Constituency. in 1985. Chinna Reddy, who was the leader of Youth Congress  contested in Wanaparthy constituency and was defeated by TDP candidate Balakrishnaiah. In 1989, Chinna Reddy contested again and won against Balakrishnaiah and entered the Legislative Assembly for the first time.

In the 1994 elections, he lost to TDP candidate Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy. Chinna Reddy won the 1999 elections with a majority of 3,500 votes against Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy. He also won the 2004 elections, worked as Rural Development Minister in YSR Cabinet, Chinna Reddy was defeated by Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy in the 2009 elections. Chinna Reddy won the 2014 elections.  He lost to Niranjan Reddy in the 2018 elections.

In 2021, he contested as a Congress candidate from the post of MLC of Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy-Mahabubnagar districts and was defeated.  (Maxim News)
