City Police Goes Stricter With Lockdown Implementation

Senior police officers from all the zones were on the ground monitoring the situation and ensuring there is strict adherence to Covid-19 safety norms

Hyderabad, May 20: Implementation of the lockdown has been made stricter in the city from Thursday following DGP M.Mahender Reddy’s instructions on Wednesday.

During the lockdown relaxation hours, senior police officers from all the zones were on the ground monitoring the situation and ensuring there is strict adherence to Covid-19 safety norms like masks and physical distancing.

The police patrolling cars and Blue Colt vehicles apart from officials from the ranks of SHO to the Zonal DCPs were on rounds post 10 am at various parts in the city. The city soon wore a deserted look with the stricter implementation of the lockdown.

Police personnel have now started focusing more on residential colonies and bylanes attached to the main roads, as many people have been noticed coming out in these places.

Officials said while the lockdown relaxation is only for four hours, between 6am to 10am, several people are seen on roads after 10am and sometimes beyond 10.30 am too.

Apart from emergency workers or services which have been permitted, others found on roads without a valid reason will be booked and their vehicles be seized, officials said.
