The rally is scheduled to take place at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi. Opposition parties are demanding accountability from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the voter-list revision exercise.
CJP Raises Concerns Over Voter Rights and SIR
In its statement, the CJP alleged that the SIR exercise had raised concerns about the possible exclusion of eligible voters from electoral rolls. It argued that voters should choose their government, rather than governments influencing who gets to vote.
The party also demanded Kumar’s resignation, claiming that he had lost the trust required to oversee free and fair elections. These remain the party’s allegations and demands; they are not established findings of wrongdoing.
Invoking the Constitution’s commitment to universal adult franchise, the CJP referred to Dr B. R. Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru and other members of the Constituent Assembly.
It said every adult citizen should have an equal right to vote, regardless of caste, religion, gender, education or economic background. The party argued that electoral procedures should expand democratic participation rather than create barriers for eligible voters.
The CJP also said the Election Commission was responsible for protecting every eligible citizen’s voting rights. It pledged to support organisations campaigning for free and fair elections.

The INDIA bloc’s November 1 rally is part of its broader campaign against the SIR exercise and its demand for accountability from the Election Commission. The opposition has raised concerns about eligible voters potentially being removed from electoral rolls, while the dispute remains a political issue.
The CJP’s endorsement adds another organisation to the list of groups expressing support for the planned rally. However, its announcement alone does not establish whether party members will attend the event in person.
