Clash Between Police And BRS Leaders: MLA Kaushik Reddy Hospitalised

Hyderabad, Nov 9 (Maxim News): Tensions escalated in Huzurabad as BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy and party workers staged a protest demanding the immediate release of funds for Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries, came under the attack of the police on Saturday.

The protest saw a large turnout of beneficiaries, resulting in a police lathi charge that left several injured and requiring hospital treatment, while Kaushik Reddy was admitted to hospital with injuries.  The police action against MLA Kaushik Reddy was condemned as inhumane and questioning the delay in Dalit Bandhu assistance should not result in such harsh treatment.  The person raising the issue happened to be an MLA. Allegations have surfaced that the attack on Kaushik Reddy was orchestrated under the directives of CM Revanth Reddy, labeling him as an enemy of the Dalit community.

Former Minister Harish Rao expressed his outrage over the police attack on MLA Kaushik Reddy. He condemned the incident, stating, “In the presence of Ambedkar’s statue, we strongly the police attack on MLA Kaushik Reddy.  he condemned the incident, stating, “In the presence of Ambedkar’s statue, we strongly denounce the police attack on MLA Kaushik Reddy at Huzurabad Chowrasta. Is it wrong for Kaushik Reddy to demand the release of the second phase of financial assistance for Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries? Is this how a representative of the people is treated for questioning the government?”.

Harish Rao further criticized the government’s actions, calling it a form of tyrannical rule reminiscent of the emergency era under Indira Gandhi. He held the Congress government fully responsible for the health and safety of their MLA, who is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital. Rao also demanded the immediate release of arrested BRS leaders and activists.

Errola Srinivas, former Chairman of the SC/ST Commission, stated that if anything happens to Kaushik Reddy, the responsibility lies with the Chief Minister. He emphasized that the Dalit community stands firmly behind Kaushik Reddy and demanded the immediate release of funds for Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries.  (Maxim News)
