CM KCR consults officials on new Municipal Act
Hyderabad, April 12 (Maxim News): The State Government is gearing up for reforms in municipal wing to ensure speedy and easy governance at districts and towns in Telangana. The aim of the proposed Act was to check corruption and come up with better and speedy services to the people.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today held a high-level review meeting on the proposed new Municipal Act. The Chief Minister discussed with senior officials on the need for new Municipal Act at a meeting in Pragathi Bhavan here. KCR said the State government was for eradication of corruption and to provide better services to the people at their door-steps in towns and districts.
“For this, we need a new Municipal Act”, he said. The CM directed the officials to prepare modalities for the new Act for civic department. On finalizing the modalities, the government is to make the municipal Act by moving a Bill in the Assembly session. During his poll campaigning, the Chief Minister repeatedly asked the people to stop giving bribe to anyone and wait for a new Act to address their issues. (Maxim News)
