Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the BJP leadership, alleging that BJP presidents brought nothing but “donkey food” to Telangana. Speaking during a visit to Karimnagar district, the Chief Minister questioned the BJP’s contribution to the state’s development and accused both the BJP and BRS of failing the people of Telangana.
CM Revanth Reddy visited Karimnagar to inaugurate the Young India Integrated Degree College at Rukmapur. He also laid the foundation stone for an ATC centre in the district. Later, he addressed a large public meeting organised at Gumlapur in the Choppadandi segment. During the meeting, he strongly targeted BJP and BRS leaders while highlighting what he described as Congress achievements.
He said the Modi government at the Centre did not give even a single rupee for the Metro, Musi, and Future City projects. He questioned what happened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise to grant national project status to the Palamuru project. He asked when the promise made in 2014 would be fulfilled. CM Revanth Reddy also criticised the BJP president, saying he brought donkey food to Telangana. He claimed that regardless of how many BJP leaders visit the state, they will not win even a single municipality.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister described the relationship between BRS and BJP as Veena Vani. He accused BRS leaders of transferring votes to the BJP during parliamentary elections. He also said that the Telangana movement began in Karimnagar. He recalled that Sonia Gandhi had promised a separate Telangana state in the Karimnagar Assembly constituency. He said she fulfilled the promise even though the Congress party lost in Andhra Pradesh. He stated that Sonia Gandhi fulfilled a 60 year long dream by granting Telangana statehood.
Later, CM Revanth Reddy said farmers receive free electricity under the Congress government. He questioned the claim of ownership over the free electricity scheme. He alleged that after Congress delivered Telangana statehood, BRS leaders increased their family assets. He said BRS leaders are now impatient after seeing two years of Congress rule. He claimed they are unhappy after witnessing positive steps taken for the people and are demanding the government step down. He also alleged that not a single double bedroom house was provided in Choppadandi during the BRS regime.
