CM to hold Cabinet meet today for Budget

Hyderabad, March 5 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will hold a Cabinet meeting at Pragathi Bhavan on Sunday.

According to the information, the Chief Minister will hold the cabinet meeting ahead of the budget session 2022-23 financial year. The Chief Minister will address the meeting and discuss the issues of the budget session, decisions on key issues and allocation of the funds to various projects. It is likely that Finance Minister T Harish Rao will present a big budget of about Rs 2.40 lakh crore for 2022-23 financial year, according to sources.

This time the budget session will not have the address of the Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan as the House which began last year was not prorogued and the continuation will not require the Governor address in the House, the ministers said. They condemned the BJP leaders for alleging that the government was trying to belittle the Governor being a lady. Ministers Harish Rao and Prashanth Reddy denied these comments of the BJP as they have utmost respect to the Governor. “We are aware that the schemes of welfare reaching be informed in the House by the Governor, they said. As the House was not prorogued, it will continue without her speech in the joint session, they clarified recently.

So this time, the budget session will see the presentation of the budget 2022-23 on March 7 itself. While Finance Minister Harish Rao will present the budget in the Assembly, it is likely that Prashanth Reddy being Legislature Affairs Minister will present it in the Council on the same day. The Business Advisory Committee to meet on the first day will decide the total number of days of the budget session. (Maxim News)
