Collectorate Employee Booked For Attempted Rape In Hanamkonda

Hanamkonda/Hyderabad, Oct 13 (Maxim News) An incident of a staff member at the Hanamkonda Collectorate allegedly attempting to rape a woman employee has come to light recently.

The accused, identified as Irfan Sohail, a senior assistant in the establishment department, has reportedly been facing allegations of harassing female staff working in the Collectorate for the past several years.

He allegedly tried to rape a woman colleague recently. However, the woman managed to escape and immediately approached the Subedari police station, where she lodged a complaint against Sohail.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case of sexual harassment against Irfan Sohail and also booked him under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. The Collector has suspended the accused from service.

The incident of a male staff member attempting to rape a woman employee within the Collectorate premises has raised several concerns. There are also allegations that Sohail enjoyed the support of some senior officials. (Maxim News)
