Hyderabad: A data entry operator working at the Ranga Reddy District Collector’s office allegedly died by suicide at Turkayamjal in Adibatla on Monday night. Family members accused a loan inspector of harassing him, leading to the tragic incident.
The deceased was identified as V. Sridhar Babu (39), who worked as an outsourcing data entry operator at the Ranga Reddy District Collector’s office located at Kongara Kalan village.
According to police, Sridhar Babu attended work as usual on Monday. He reportedly left the office around 4 pm on personal work and later returned home.
Family Alleges Harassment Led to Suicide
Police said that during the evening, a person identified as Srinivas Naidu, who works as a loan inspector, allegedly called Sridhar Babu and spoke to him over the phone.
Family members stated that shortly after the conversation ended, Sridhar Babu went into a room and died by suicide.
The victim’s relatives alleged that he had been facing harassment from Srinivas Naidu and claimed that the pressure led him to take the extreme step.
An official from the Adibatla police station said that the allegations made by the family are being examined as part of the investigation.
Police Register Abetment Case
Based on a complaint lodged by a relative of the deceased, Adibatla police registered a case of abetment of suicide against Srinivas Naidu.
Police shifted the body for postmortem examination and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
Officials are collecting evidence, including details of the phone conversation and other relevant information, to determine the sequence of events that led to the incident.
The investigation is currently underway, and police said further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
