Commercal Complexes In RTC Vacant Lands: Management Working To Increase Revenue

Hyderabad, Sept 28 (Maxim News): TGRTC has decided to increase its own revenue.  As part of this, it has focused on developing the vacant land of the company across the state commercially.  The RTC management is planning to hand over these vacant lands to the National Building Construction Company (NBCC), a central government subsidiary, which provides services in the construction sector, and construct commercial buildings on them.

The RTC management is planning to lease these lands to NBCC for 49 years and generate an income of at least Rs. 50 crore per month.  However, it is learnt that NBCC has put forward proposals to lease them for 99 years before the RTC.

Recently, representatives of this organisation came to Hyderabad and held discussions with the RTC management, it is learnt that these representatives have also inspected the miyapur bus body unit site in the city, the vacant land in the Uppal RTC depot, the vacant land next to the Bus Bhavan, and the RTC sites in Kukatpally and Rajendra Nagar.

However, it is learnt that NBCC has shown interest in constructing a huge commercial complex on the 20 acre land of the miyapur Bus Body Unit in the first phase.  NBCC, which has held preliminary discussions with the RTC management on this, is likely to sign an agreement soon.  However, the lease term is yet to be clarified between the two companies.

If NBCC comes forward to build a commercial complex on the site of the bus body unit in Miyapur, there is a possibility that the bus body unit located here will be shifted to the RTC depot in Uppal or to the karimnagar RTC workshop.  The state government is currently making efforts to completely switch to electric vehicles in the city, and some buses have already been put into use in the first phase.  With this, the city may not need the bus body unit in the coming days.  That is why it is known that the RTC management is ready to give this site to NBCC for the construction of a huge commercial complex.  This may save the RTC from financial difficulties.  (Maxim News)
