Congress Alleges BRS Behind Fake News Campaign To Defame Naveen Yadav In Jubilee Hills
· TPCC spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin says BRS resorting to false propaganda against Naveen Yadav amid rising public support
Hyderabad: TPCC spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin on Friday accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of orchestrating a fake news campaign to defame Congress candidate Naveen Yadav and mislead voters in the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Nizamuddin said the entire Jubilee Hills constituency was witnessing unprecedented enthusiasm and optimism since the Congress party announced Naveen Yadav’s candidature. He said that the young leader from the Backward Classes had generated tremendous public support and that the BRS could not digest his growing popularity.
“The craze for Naveen Yadav among the people of Jubilee Hills has shaken the BRS leadership,” Nizamuddin said. “Unable to accept the wave of support for the Congress candidate, the BRS has resorted to cheap, unethical tactics and false propaganda through social media.”
He alleged that BRS leaders and their social media teams were spreading fake and fabricated content to malign Naveen Yadav’s image. “They created a fake news clip claiming that Naveen Yadav had made objectionable remarks against Muslims. This is completely false, baseless, and malicious. He has never made such a comment at any time or on any platform,” he said.

To make the fake clip look authentic, Nizamuddin said, the perpetrators used the dateline and layout of a leading Telugu daily, falsely projecting it as a legitimate news item. “Their intention was clear – to mislead Muslim voters and create communal misunderstanding,” he added.
Nizamuddin further recalled that a few days earlier, another fabricated clipping was circulated, claiming that “HYDRA will demolish houses in Jubilee Hills.” He said that the fake story was designed using the dateline of another Telugu daily, another attempt by BRS sympathisers to create panic and confusion.
“These repeated attempts show that the BRS has become a habitual offender in spreading fake news,” he said. “Instead of answering for its ten years of failures in Jubilee Hills, the BRS is now throwing mud at Naveen Yadav to divert attention from its own record of neglect and misgovernance.”
The TPCC spokesperson appealed to the people, especially voters of Jubilee Hills, not to believe or share such false propaganda. “The BRS is desperate because the people have seen through its lies. We urge citizens to verify information and stay alert against such misinformation,” he said.
Nizamuddin said the Congress party would lodge a formal complaint with the Cyber Crime Police and demand a thorough investigation. “We are seeking strict action not only against the social media accounts that posted these fake news items but also against those who conceived, designed, funded, and circulated them,” he said. He further urged Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar to take suo motu cognisance and register a case against those responsible.
Calling it a sign of desperation, Nizamuddin said the BRS was trying to divert voters’ attention from its own failures by manufacturing fake news. “The Congress party stands for clean politics and truth-based campaigning. We will continue to expose every false propaganda aimed at misleading the people of Jubilee Hills,” he said.
Expressing full confidence in the Congress party’s prospects, Nizamuddin concluded that Naveen Yadav’s candidature has united the cadre and earned massive public support, and that he would win the Jubilee Hills by-election with a record-breaking majority. (Maxim News)
