Hyderabad, Oct. 17: The Congress has alleged that a BJP-linked network is using computer-generated Form 7 applications to target Muslim voters for deletion from electoral rolls in Telangana. Hyderabad District Congress Committee president Syed Khalid Saifullah made the allegations during a protest at Charminar on Saturday.
The protest march was led by Telangana Government Advisor and senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao from Madina Market to Charminar. More than 200 Congress workers participated, raising slogans against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and demanding an investigation into alleged irregularities in voter roll revision.
Congress Demands Probe into Form 7 Applications
Saifullah alleged that entire Muslim families were being targeted in constituencies including Musheerabad and Goshamahal. He questioned the origin of the applications and claimed they were generated using computers and routed from Delhi through the BJP state office to Assembly-level functionaries and booth-level workers.
He alleged that the process could involve an organised network rather than isolated applications. However, the claims were allegations made by Congress leaders during the protest.
Saifullah demanded that investigators trace the entire chain behind the applications, including who generated, distributed and submitted them. Referring to an FIR registered against a Booth Level Agent in Telangana, he argued that the investigation should extend beyond the person submitting the forms.
He also called for BJP offices to be examined as part of the probe. Saifullah alleged that similar computer-generated Form 7 formats had surfaced in Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Karnataka, and sought a wider investigation into their origins.
The Hyderabad DCC president accused the BJP of using the voter revision process to deepen communal divisions. He also criticised Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao over what he described as a lack of clear answers on the issue.

Hanumantha Rao said Congress would continue its agitation against any attempt to remove eligible voters from electoral rolls. Party leaders expressed concern that minorities, poor households, migrants and other vulnerable groups could be affected by wrongful deletions.
Saifullah said Congress would pursue the matter with election authorities, law-enforcement agencies and through legal channels. He warned that the party would intensify its campaign if the alleged source of the applications was not investigated.
