Congress appeals to youth to vote consciously in Munugode by-polls

Hyderabad, October 26: TPCC Treasurer and former minister P. Sudarshan Reddy made a fervent appeal to the voters of the Munugode constituency, especially the youth, to vote with consciousness in the by-elections and elect Congress candidate Palvai Shranvanti.

Interacting with the voters in various villages of Munugode constituency on Wednesday, Sudarshan Reddy appealed to the voters, especially the youth not to get lured by the money and liquor being offered by BJP and TRS and to use their vote for Congress for a bright future. “Youth must vote consciously after judging what is best for their future. Politics is not just about votes. It is about selecting someone who could serve the people for the next five years. Therefore, youth should vote consciously and reject timely gains like cash,” he said.

Sudarshan Reddy, who took part in the campaign along with Malreddy Ramreddy and other senior leaders, said the Congress party has nominated Palvai Shravanti, the daughter of the late Palvai Govardhan Reddy, as its candidate. He said Govardhan Reddy has served the people of Munugode throughout his life and Shravanti too believes in the same ideals and morals as his father.

He said Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy has quit as MLA and Congress party to satisfy his greed and get contracts from the BJP Govt. “After betraying the party and people, Rajagopal Reddy is now making tall promises of bringing development. BJP has won two by-elections in Dubbak and Huzurabad by making similar promises of bringing Central funds. But no development took place in those constituencies. They are now trying to apply the same trick in Munugode. Therefore, Munugode voters should reject the BJP outrightly,” he said.

Sudarshan Reddy said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been cheating the people with fake promises since 2014. “Modi had promised 2 crore jobs every year. He also promised to deposit 15 lakh in every account. His government did not even help the farmers in the last eight years. Similarly, KCR had promised one job for a family. How many jobs BJP Govt at the Centre and TRS Govt in Telangana created in the last eight years?” he asked.

He also accused the BJP and TRS Govt of ruining the entire educational system. He said lakhs of bright students were not getting proper educational facilities in local colleges and they were not in a position to study abroad due to high cost. Modi and KCR have no policy for higher education.

Sudarshan Reddy said first Prime Minister Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru had a strong vision and he had established institutions like IITs within three years of independence. He said those studying in IITs, IIMs and other institutions established during the previous Congress regime were at top positions across the globe. He said the youth should do a comparative analysis of the contribution made by the Congress party and the fake promises being made by BJP and TRS.

He said that CM KCR stopped the Aarogyasri scheme which provided free treatment for the poor. Similarly, all universities and colleges were facing a huge shortage of funds and staff. He said there were no professors or other staff in the Nizamabad Medical College. A majority of students who study in government colleges are poor but meritorious. By not providing funds and filling vacancies, KCR Govt is ruining their careers and lives, he alleged.

Sudarshan Reddy appealed to the Munugode voters not to get misled by the false propaganda of BJP and TRS and to reject their politics of greed. He requested them to vote for Palvai Shravanti, the only woman candidate, in the by-elections to teach BJP and TRS a fitting lesson. (Ends)
