Congress Blames AIMIM and BRS for The Backwardness Of Charminar Constituency

Hyderabad, November 13: Congress Candidate From Charminar Mujeebullah Shareef has blamed the MIM and BRS Government for the lack of development in the Charminar constituency.

Speaking to media persons after conducting a door-to-door campaign in the Charminar constituency on Monday, Mujeebullah Shareef said that the Charminar constituency is the commercial hub as it houses world-famous markets like Laad Bazar, Pathergatti, Mahboob Chowk, etc. He said that the markets in the Charminar constituency pay hundreds of crores to the Central and State Governments through GST and other taxes. However, he said that the residents failed to benefit from this commercial activity due to the negligence of the MIM and BRS.

He said that the MIM has been representing the Charminar seat since 1969. However, it never did anything to promote the area as a heritage site and boost tourism. Even today, he said almost all tourists who visit Hyderabad come to Charminar, Mecca Masjid, Chowmohalla Palace, and other tourist spots. Due to the lack of any facilities, the tourist spend less time which do not benefit the residents.

He said Charminar is the only heritage area in the world which despite having a 400-year-old history is confined as a slum and congested area. He said that there was a huge potential to develop the Charminar constituency which can boost employment opportunities for the local youth.

However, nothing was done to decongest the areas, boost tourism, or create new facilities. He said even the proposal to construct a multi-level parking complex was shelved.

Mujeebullah Shareef said that the Congress party if voted to power, would develop the Charminar constituency and would turn it into a world heritage hub. He asked the people to vote for a change and elect him from the constituency. Earlier, he interacted with the residents and enquired about their problems. He assured that their grievances would be addressed after the Congress party wins the coming elections. (Maxim News)
