Congress Candidates Win By One Vote In Two Municipal Wards

Hyderabad, Feb 13: Congress candidates win by one vote in two municipal wards in Telangana, delivering nail biting finishes in separate districts. As a result, both contests drew attention during the ongoing municipal election counting.

In Narayanpet district, the Ward 10 result in Kalwakurthy Municipality saw a razor thin margin. Congress candidate Aijaz secured 259 votes. Meanwhile, BRS candidate Taher received 258 votes.

Initially, officials noticed the narrow gap during counting. Therefore, they ordered a recount to verify the result. After the recount, authorities confirmed that Aijaz won by a single vote.

Similarly, another close contest emerged in Parkal Municipality. In Ward 17, Congress candidate Subhadra secured victory by just one vote. Consequently, the result turned the ward into one of the most closely fought battles in the State.

Election officials conducted counting under tight supervision. Moreover, authorities followed due procedure in cases where margins remained extremely narrow.

Such one vote victories highlight the importance of every ballot in municipal elections. Therefore, parties are urging supporters to participate actively in civic polls.
