Congress Demands Amit Shah To Apologise People Of Telangana

Hyderabad, March 27 (Maxim News):  TPCC Senior Vice President, G. Niranjan demanded Union Home Minister Amit Shah apologise to the people of Telangana and the congress party.  He alleged that Amit Shah has tried to distort history by saying that the Congress party ignored the Martyrs who fought against Nizam and for the merger of the Hyderabad estate into the Indian Union.

Yesterday Amit Shah unveiled a statue of Sardar Patel in Gorat village in the Bidar district of Karnataka, falsely accusing the Congress party of neglecting the martyrs who fought against the Nizam. If BJP governments take initiative for the statues of Sardar Patel and martyrs memorials, we welcome it. But we fight against the false propaganda and Goebbels publicity by the BJP and its leaders as the Congress ignored the martyrs. They are resorting to giving the impression that no statues of Sardar Patel were not built in the past.

Decades ago, the statue of Sardar Patel was erected in front of the Assembly in Hyderabad and the Ashoka Pillar was built at the Kothi bus stand commemorating the 1857 Sepoy Mutiny and Turrebaz Khan revolt against British residency. All these were built during the Congress period. Is it not the Congress named the Sardar Patel Road in Secunderabad, Turrebaz Khan Road in Kothi, and Shoaibullah Khan Road in Chappal Bazar? Is it not Congress that put the statue of Swami Ramananda Tirtha who fought for the merger in front of the Assembly?

We demand Amit Shah disclose a single name of a BJP leader who fought against the Nizam rule and contributed to the Hyderabad merger. The Congress leaders fought for the merger of Hyderabad into the Indian Union and against the Nizam rule under the banner of the Grandhalaya movement, Andhra Mahasabha, Arya Samaj, and Hyderabad State Congress. It seems that Amit Shah is not aware of the fact that Hyderabad State Congress was banned by Nizam in 1948.

The Congress leaders had set up camps in Hyderabad border areas such as Maharastra and Andhra to save Hyderabad residents from the attacks of Rajakars. Is it not the Congress government that recognized the freedom fighters who fought against the Nizam and Rajakars in Hyderabad as freedom fighters and granted them a pension and allocated land, on par with the freedom fighters of other parts of the country who fought against the British rulers?

Is it not true that during the period of Sri PV Narsimha Rao as Union Home Minister, a separate section was set up in the Home Ministry to take prompt action on the applications of the Freedom Fighters from the erstwhile Hyderabad estate? Is it not true that the Congress took initiative to help the families of the
martyrs by constituting a committee under the leadership of the former minister and freedom fighter Late  T.Hayagrivachari in the state? There was an office of the Telangana Freedom fighters association headed by the Late Katam Lakshmi Narayana within the premises of Gandhi Bhavan which provided all assistance to the freedom fighters.

For the last several decades every year, the Congress party has celebrated Hyderabad merger day in Gandhi Bhavan on 17th September and felicitated the available freedom fighters who fought against the nizam and for the merger of Hyderabad estate into the Indian Union. (Maxim News)
