Congress Intensifies Membership Drive Among Minorities

Hyderabad, December 16: Hyderabad City Congress Committee (HCCC) Minorities Department Chairman Waliullah Sameer on Sunday informed that the process for constitution of new body has been commenced and it would be completed in the next few days.

Waliullah Sameer, in a media statement, said that educated youth from minority communities were being given prominence in the new body and the HCCC Minorities Department would have a robust and energetic look after its revamp. He said thousands of youth belonging to Muslim, Christian, Sikh and other minority communities have actively worked for the Congress party in the recently held Assembly elections. Although the results were not favourable due to EVM manipulation, the Congress workers at the grass root level has given their 100% in taking party’s message to the people. Therefore, he said all hard working and dedicated party workers would be accommodated on important positions in the HCCC Minorities Department.

Sameer also informed that the membership drive, especially among minorities, has been intensified in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. “Congress party believes in serving the people irrespective of victory or defeat in elections. We want to stay in touch with the people all the times and help them whenever they need us. Therefore, we are appealing the youth to join the Congress party if they genuinely wish to serve the people and society,” he said.

The Congress leader said that there has been tremendous response to the membership drive launched through online mode. He said hundreds of youth from Hyderabad were connecting with the Congress party through social media platforms. He also informed that a 24×7 helpline was also being launched to facilitate entry of young blood into the party. (Maxim News)
