Mahipal Reddy, who defected to the Congress last year, met Chandrashekhar Rao in his chamber at the State Assembly to invite him to a family wedding. While Chandrashekhar Rao responded cordially and inquired about his well-being, the meeting has fueled talk of Mahipal Reddy planning a return to BRS amid growing discontent among the public against the ruling Congress.

The Patancheru MLA had been crossing swords with Congress leaders after the Congress government reportedly failed to fulfill his requests for constituency development and had been distancing himself at regular instances. However, he maintained that he had only met Chandrashekhar Rao to invite him to a wedding in his family.

Aswaraopeta MLA Jare Adinarayana is also said to have met the former Chief Minister, calling it a mere courtesy call as the latter attended the Assembly after a year. However, the back-to-back meetings have raised eyebrows in political circles.

Inside the Assembly, Chandrashekhar Rao’s presence drew widespread attention, with several Ministers and MLAs from different parties greeting him.
