Hyderabad, Oct.17 (Maxim News): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and Nalgonda MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the victory of Congress party in Huzurnagar bye-elections, to be held on October 21, would decide the future of politics in Telangana State.
Addressing a press conference, along with Telangana Jana Samithi president Prof. M. Kodandaram, Congress MLA T. Jeevan Reddy, former minister Damodar Reddy and other leaders, at Huzurnagar on Thursday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the victory of Congress candidates Uttam Padmavathi was essential not only for the people of Huzurnagar constituency, but for the entire State. He said that people’s verdict in Congress party’s favour would send a strong message to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao that his arrogance and dictatorial style of functioning was no longer appreciated by people. He said defeat in Huzurnagar might force TRS Government to focus on fulfilment of electoral promises and inculcate a fear that it would face similar rejection in all other constituencies in the State.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said it would be highly unfortunate for the people if TRS wins the by-polls. He warned that TRS leaders would turn Huzurnagar constituency into a den of mafia activities if they win the bye-elections.
The TPCC Chief alleged that the TRS Government did not fulfill a single major promise it made to the people in both 2014 and 2018 Assembly elections.
TJS Chief Kodandaram echoed the same views while addressing an election meeting of Congress candidate Uttam Padmavathi in Yellapuram today. He said Congress victory was the key to resolve all the problems being faced by people of Telangana now. Several TRS leaders and workers from Nereducherla joined the Congress party on the occasion.
