Congress Warns Voters Of BRS Misinformation In Jubilee Hills

  • Congress urges vigilance during silent period before November 11 polling

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin on Sunday urged voters in Jubilee Hills constituency to stay cautious during the silent period ahead of the November 11 by-election. He warned that social media platforms may be used to spread misinformation and doctored visuals in the absence of physical campaigning. “The BRS may misuse social media platforms during this time to circulate fake news, doctored videos, and AI-generated visuals to mislead voters. I urge every citizen to verify information before sharing it and to stay alert against such deliberate attempts to manipulate public opinion,” Nizamuddin said.

He alleged that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leadership had been running a digital misinformation campaign instead of speaking about its ten-year rule and nearly two years in opposition. “Rather than highlighting their achievements, they have chosen to attack Congress with baseless allegations, fake audio-visuals, and fabricated stories. This shows the level of frustration within the BRS as they sense their defeat,” he added. According to Nizamuddin, the BRS created and spread AI-generated images, edited speeches, and manipulated video clips targeting Congress leaders in recent days.

Nizamuddin said the Congress had acted promptly by filing complaints with the Election Commission and cybercrime authorities. He stated that several FIRs were registered against those spreading false information. “Our legal and IT teams have been working round the clock to expose such falsehoods,” he said. The Congress campaign, he added, had focused entirely on issues of development, welfare, and clean governance, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and supported by senior party leaders.

“The Congress team connected directly with the people through roadshows, street-corner meetings, and door-to-door visits. The response from every section of society — youth, women, minorities, professionals, and traders — has been overwhelmingly positive,” Nizamuddin said. Expressing his gratitude to the voters, he thanked the Jubilee Hills residents for their active participation during the campaign. “The people’s enthusiasm and support for Congress candidate Naveen Yadav clearly reflect their trust in Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress government,” he stated.

He appealed to all voters to remain calm, vigilant, and disciplined on polling day. “The people’s mandate must be protected from manipulation. I request all Congress workers to remain watchful against attempts to bribe, mislead, or intimidate voters. Every vote cast with honesty and awareness will strengthen democracy,” Nizamuddin said, expressing confidence that the people of Jubilee Hills would elect the Congress candidate with a strong majority.
