Hyderabad, April 24: Several prominent personalities including politicians, senior police officials, businessmen and senior journalists attended the Iftar party hosted by Sameer Waliullah, Editor-in-Chief of Indian News Network (INN) – INN Channel & proprietor of Sameer Properties, at Lake View Banjara Garden Function Hall here on Sunday evening.

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & MP A. Revanth Reddy, former minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir, TPCC Campaign Committee Chairman Madhu Yashki Goud, former union minister Balram Naik, TPCC General Secretary Vinod Reddy, TPCC Spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin, Telangana BJP Vice-President Janardhan Reddy, senior TRS leader Rashid Shareef and other senior leaders of Congress, TRS, BJP, MIM and Left parties attended the Iftar party.

Imam & Khateeb of historic Mecca Masjid Moulana Rizwan Qureshi, Mufti Sadiq Mohiuddin and other eminent religious personalities were also present at the Iftar party.

The guests were received by INN Editor-in-Chief Sameer Waliullah and other staff members.

Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy said that the Almighty Allah answers all the prayers in the month of holy Ramzan and this year, he has prayed for unity among the people of India irrespective of their religions, castes and regions. “I’ve prayed to Allah to keep Hindus and Muslims united as the two eyes. Some communal forces are trying to divide the country on religious lines to win elections. But the Congress party has always promoted secularism and the well-being of all communities. The Congress party will continue to fight to protect secularism and ensure unity and integrity of this country,” he said.

Mohammed Ali Shabbir, in his speech, said that the Ramzan celebrations were badly disrupted during the last two years due to Covid pandemic. But this year, everyone we are all fortunate to celebrate Ramzan without any restrictions. Praising Revanth Reddy for his secular credentials, he appealed to the people to support the TPCC President in his fight against the communal forces in Telangana State.

The Maghrib prayers were led by Imam & Khateeb of historic Mecca Masjid Rizwan Qureshi.

After the breaking of fasts, over 2,000 guests were served Hyderabad’s traditional food items including Haleem, and Biryani, besides the regular salad and other food items. The dinner lasted for over an hour wherein the guests were seen sharing their views on different subjects. Altogether, it was a great get-together for all the guests who attended the Iftar Party.
