Congress will win the next Assembly elections in Telangana: Manikrao Thakre

·         Uttam Kumar Reddy, VHR, and other senior congress leaders attend ‘Telangana Poru Yatra’

·         Maheshwar Reddy accuses Minister Indrakaran Reddy of grabbing govt lands

Hyderabad, March 4: AICC Telangana Incharge Manikrao Thakre participated in the ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo’ Congress Telangana Poru Yatra organized by AICC Programmes Implementation Committee Chairman Alleti Maheshwar Reddy from Sirgapur to Nirmal on Saturday.

Later, addressing a corner meeting at Shivaji Chowk in Nirmal, Manikrao Thakre claimed that there has been a tremendous response to the ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo’ yatra across Telangana State, he said that the Congress party was all set to return to power in the next elections. He accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao of cheating the people with false promises and fake claims. He said that the Congress cadre has been exposing the failures of the BRS Govt in Telangana and the BJP Govt at the Centre by conducting the door-to-door campaign.

Senior leaders including AICC Telangana Incharge Secretary Nadeem Javed, Nalgonda MP Capt N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, former PCC President V. Hanumantha Rao, former Deputy CM Damodar Raja Narasimha, and other senior leaders participated in the Yatra.

Addressing the meeting, Nalgonda MP Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy criticized the BRS Government for the rising unemployment in Telangana. He pointed out that more than 40 lakh youth are jobless in Telangana, including about 25 lakhs qualified youth registered with TSPSC. He said the BRS Govt was boasting about filling up a few thousand vacancies, but it is not addressing the remaining jobless youth. Citing an example, he said that tests were conducted for recruitment on 20,177 various posts of Group-1, Group-2, Group-3, and Police recruitment. A whopping 22.01 lakh candidates applied for these posts. An average of 756 candidates competed for each available vacancy in Group-1. Similarly, the average number of candidates per post is 704 for Group-2 and 390 for Group-3.

“For example, if the government recruited 17,516 people for police recruitment, what should the remaining 7.30 lakh candidates who did not get the job do? They need alternate jobs, but the BRS Government is not providing them jobs or even fulfilling the promise of giving Unemployment Allowance of Rs. 3,016 per month,” he said adding that the next Congress Govt would address the problem of unemployment on priority.

AICC Programme Implementation Committee Chairman Alleti Maheshwar Reddy alleged that CM KCR has ‘hijacked’ the original dream of Telangana. “He came to power by exploiting the sentiments of Telangana but did nothing to achieve the goals of Neelu (Water), Nidhulu (Funds), and Niyamakalu (Jobs). CM KCR gave up Telangana’s share of the Godavari and Krishna rivers to Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. He pushed Telangana into huge debts of over Rs. 5 lakh crore which is equivalent to two full annual budgets. Further, over 40 lakh youth are still jobless in the State. They include thousands of youth who actively participated in the statehood movement,” he said.

Maheshwar Reddy said that today the State Government was not in a situation to pay salaries to the employees on time and no funds are left to be spent on welfare schemes. However, he said that the assets of KCR and his family increase multiple times and their party TRS (now BRS) became one of the richest parties in the country. “KCR became the Chief Minister twice by exploiting the Telangana sentiments and now he disowned Telangana by forming the BRS to accomplish his dream of playing a role in national politics. KCR is so opportunist that tomorrow he might even suggest a merger of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh if it suits his political goals,” he feared.

Calling Minister Indrakarana Reddy ‘Qabza Reddy’, he alleged that the minister was more focused on land grabbing than serving the people. He said that the Minister took no interest in resolving the problems being faced by students at IIIT Basar. He said that the Minister did not meet the Adivasis when they were sent to jail. He said Indrakaran Reddy failed to bring any development in Bhainsa despite being in the cabinet for the last eight years. He said whatever development Bhainsa town has witnessed was brought during the previous Congress regime.

Maheshwar Reddy alleged that Minister Indrakaran Reddy always searches for empty government lands to grab them and place his crusher machines. He alleged that the Minister has looted the public wealth to increase his family’s assets. “He always thinks of encroaching upon the Hindu Endowment lands or taking their control by giving them on the lease,” he said while adding that the people of Bhainsa were aware of the misdoings of Minister Indrakaran Reddy.

He appealed to the people to give a chance to the Congress party which fulfilled the 60-year-old dream of Telangana. (Maxim News)
