Congress women leaders pat Shravanti for fighting against TRS, BJP courageously

Hyderabad, Oct.25 (NSS): Senior women leaders of Telangana Congress party have appreciated the wit and valour with which party candidate Palvai Shravanti is fighting the by-election against the BJP and TRS.

“Palvai Shravanti is fighting against the mighty BJP and powerful TRS in the by-election with total courage and commitment. BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy was trying to intimidate her by using physical attacks as a tool to disturb her campaign. We strongly condemn the attack on Palvai Shravanti by BJP goons during the Munugode by-election campaigning. He is under the wrong impression that women could be threatened by using ‘goons’ and tactics like stone pelting on convoys. Similarly, TRS candidate Prabhakar Reddy is using huge money and official machinery to decimate her campaigning. However, Palvai Shravanti continued her campaigning by displaying courage. She is fighting against the BJP and TRS like the ‘Rudrama Devi’ without showing any signs of fear,” Congress MLA Seethakka said while addressing a series of meetings in the Munugode constituency on Tuesday.

Seethakka said both the TRS and BJP were attacking the Congress workers because they are losing control over the election and they are scared of the Congress party. She said Palvai Shravanti has been receiving an overwhelming response from the voters, especially women. Both TRS and BJP have got clear signals in the constituency that they are losing the by-election. Out of frustration and fear, they are resorting to physical attacks on Congress candidate and party workers. “The way Rudrama Devi faced several challenges and bravely fought against them, Palvai Shravanti is fighting hard to send a strong message to both the BJP and TRS that they should never underestimate the power of a woman,” she added.

TPCC Working President & former minister Dr J. Geetha Reddy also appreciated Palvai Shravanti for running an effective campaigning amid the threats of physical attacks by BJP and TRS leaders. “Shravanti is proving to the world that women have enough courage to fight against the most powerful men, who depend on money and muscle power. She is drawing inspiration from great leaders like former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi to stay focused on her campaigning. She is fighting an ideological battle and she would emerge victorious,” she said in a media statement.

Geetha Reddy said Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao must be ashamed of the actions of their party candidates, who are resorting to unethical and violent means to defeat a woman. “Palvai Shravanti is not alone in her fight. She has the support of all women of Telangana, especially of the Munugode constituency. Her victory will become an insignia of women empowerment,” she said while appealing to the voters, especially women to elect Palvai Shravanti in the by-election. (NSS)
