Corona: 8,000 Children Tested Positive in Maharashtra

While Maharashtra tackles the second wave of corona, the Uddhav Thackeray-led administration is also working to reduce the effects of a probable third wave, especially after nearly 8,000 youngsters contracted coronavirus in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar district.

A special covid-19 ward for children is being planned, according to sources. Authorities are developing plans to ensure that children do not feel as if they are in a hospital but rather as if they are at a school or nursery.

As far as vaccination is concerned, in many countries, clinical trials are underway for children. Some countries have started vaccinating children above 12 years with Pfizer and moderna vaccines. On the other hand, some health experts opined that children would come out of it as they are less likely to be affected by the virus. However, children with weak immunity power and affected with mal-nutrition may face the risk.
