Kamareddy, May 9: Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and State Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir announced that the family of Greyhounds constable Vadla Sridhar, who died in the line of duty, would receive Rs 2.17 crore financial assistance, a government job for one family member, and a 300-square-yard residential plot.
They made the announcement while attending Sridhar’s funeral, held with full police honours at Palwancha mandal headquarters in Kamareddy district, the constable’s native place. Zahirabad MP Suresh Shetkar, District Collector Ashish Sangwan, and senior police officials also took part in the ceremony.
The leaders assured the bereaved family of full government support.

Sridhar was among the three Greyhounds personnel who were martyred in a landmine explosion in Mulugu on Thursday.
Ponnam Prabhakar and Shabbir Ali offered floral tributes to the mortal remains and personally consoled Sridhar’s family members. Among those present were Greyhounds Commander (Operations) Raghavender Reddy, SP Rajesh, OSD Dayanand, Additional SP Chaitanya Reddy, DSP Shankarayya, District Library Authority Chairman Maddi Chandrakant Reddy, Additional Collector (Revenue) V. Victor, RDO Veena, along with police and revenue officials, and local residents. (Maxim News)
