Couple Cheated By Middlemen On Pretext Of Job In SCCL, Ends Life
Kothagudem/Hyderabad, Oct 1 (Maxim News): A couple who attempted suicide by consuming pesticide after being cheated by some persons in the pretext of offering a job in SCCl died undergoing treatment at Hyderabad on Tuesday.
The deceased Ratna Kumar, who completed graduation and his wife Parvathi, who completed B.Ed tried for government jobs in the past but could not succeed.
They belong to Sairam thanda in Julurpad mandal in the district and were working in a shopping mall in Kothagudem.
According to family members one of the colleagues of Ratna Kumar told him that he could get a dependent job in SCCL by paying Rs. 16 lakh and introduced him to two middlemen.
Ratna Kumar was said to have paid Rs. 14 lakh installments till August this year to the middlemen by taking loans and selling his wife’s gold ornaments.
In due course, one of the middlemen reportedly died. When Ratna Kumar learnt about the death of the middleman asked his colleague about the job and the latter started avoiding him.
Upset over the developments Ratna Kumar on Monday consumed pesticide and his wife who saw him consuming pesticide also consumed it and told his brother about their suicide attempt.
the couple was first taken to a hospital in Kothagudem by his brother, later to Khammam and then to Hyderabad, where they succumbed to the pesticide. (Maxim News)
