CP Anand visits Sri Ujjaini Mahankali temple

Hyderabad, July 16 (Maxim News): As the Sri Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad is all set to celebrate Bonalu on a grand scale, City police commissioner C V Anand visited the temple to review the security arrangements. It is expected some seven to eight lakh devotees will visit the temple during the festivities and offer special pujas to the Goddess.

CP Anand, along with Addl. CP (L&O) D.S. Chouhan, traffic officials visited the queue lines, route maps and had a brief meeting with the organisers to ensure all arrangements are in place to facilitate the devotees and the commuters and provide hassle free darshan of the goddess. A total of six queue lines, two exclusively for women devotees carrying bonams, and two queue lines for women devotees and rest open for general crowd were instated.

The CP urged them to take all precautionary measures at the sound systems, decorative lighting threads, illumination points in view of monsoon season. “Traffic restrictions were imposed around all the roads through which temple could be approached and the city police made elaborate security arrangements with 3,500 police personnel working round-the-clock to ensure month-long exciting and thrilling festivities of Bonalu, a state festival, always remain as wonderful memories.” He said. the City police will also issue passes to media reporters, he added.

CCTVs, crime teams and SHE teams were deployed to ensure the women devotees are safe and to keep the snatchers, pick pockets at bay. DCP North Zone Chandana Deepthi; DCP Traffic, N. Prakash Reddy and other officers accompanied the CP during his visit. (Maxim News)
