CP Radhakrishnan Sworn-In As New Governor Of Telangana

Hyderabad March 20: CP Radhakrishnan has been sworn in as the Governor of Telangana. Telangana High Court Chief Justice Justice Alok Aradhe administered the oath to him at Raj Bhavan.

Radhakrishnan, who is currently the governor of Jharkhand, has additionally taken charge of Telangana. It is known that President Droupadi Murmu appointed him in the wake of former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan’s resignation. CM Revanth Reddy, many ministers and public representatives attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Background and Political Career

Born on May 4, 1957, CP Radhakrishnan was elected as a two-time BJP MP from the Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat in Tamil Nadu. He also served as the state president of Tamil Nadu BJP. From 2016 to 2019, he served as the Chairman of the All India Choir Board. Recognized as one of the senior leaders of Tamil Nadu BJP.

Expanding Responsibilities

He is serving as the Governor of Jharkhand from February 18, 2023. Along with Telangana, he was given additional responsibilities as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. In a statement released on Tuesday, the Office of the President said that CP Radhakrishnan will hold the charge till full-fledged governors are appointed in both the places.
