Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems project goes live in Telangana
Hyderabad: Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao and Home Minister Narsimha Reddy today declared live the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems project in the State.
The project, which was initiated in the State in 2012, has over 100 locations including all police stations and offices of senior police officials linked to it now.
The system will generate SMS alerts to complainants after lodging a complaint with a police station. The SMS will serve as an acknowledgement and will have a petition ID, which can be used to track the status of the petition through the State police website, www.tspolice.gov.in.
Details of missing persons too will be available via the system on the police website.
Each police station was supplied with computers, multi functional printers and dedicated network connectivity among other facilities to enable the CCTNS. The system going live will also mean that the Telangana Police will now move on to the CCTNS from the e-Cops platform.
Speaking on the occasion, both the Ministers pointed out that the Telangana police was identified as being an advanced State in implementation of IT applications by the Ministry of Home Affairs, and appreciated the efforts of the police in utilising technology.
