Crime Rate In Telangana Increased In The Year 2023: DGP
Hyderabad, Dec 29 (Maxim News): The Director General of Police, Ravi Gupta informed that the crime rate across the state of Telangana has increased by 8.97 percent compared to last year 2,13,121 cases have been registered this year. This year cyber crime has increased by 17.59 percent.
DGP Ravi Gupta released the annual report, today morning, on this occasion, he said in a media conference that the Assembly elections were conducted peacefully and the elections were completed without any problems with the cooperation of the police and media.
He revealed that zero FIRs have been registered in 1108 this year and 1,38,312 cases have been registered under IPC section. He said that out of 73 rape cases, 84 people were sentenced to life imprisonment, 1,360 drug cases were registered under NDPS this year, compared to last year, the number of drug cases increased by 15.6 percent this year. 25,260 kg of ganja, 1240 ganja plants were seized and 2583 people were arrested. The DGP clarified that 1877 SC and ST cases have been registered across the state this year. Telangana Police is taking strict action against drugs and strict vigilance of drugs is continuing as per government orders.
DGP Ravi Gupta said that an anti-narcotic bureau has been set up to control drugs and 182 people have been arrested in 59 drug cases. The DGP said that PD Act has been registered against 175 repeat drug peddlers. 12 foreign offenders have been arrested and counseling has been given to 536 drug consumers. (Maxim News)
