Telangana Budget 2026 27 allocates Rs 1000 crore to Osmania University

Hyderabad, Mar 20 (Maxim News): The Telangana government allocated Rs 1,000 crore for the development of Osmania University in the Telangana Budget 2026 27. Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced the allocation while presenting the budget in the Assembly.

The allocation highlights the government’s focus on higher education. Officials said the funds will support infrastructure upgrades. The move also reflects the importance of Osmania University in Telangana’s academic landscape.

The university played a key role during the Telangana Movement. Student groups actively participated in the movement. The government said it recognises this legacy.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had earlier promised support for the university. He visited the campus after assuming office. During the visit, he interacted with students. He also reviewed campus issues.

Telangana Budget 2026 27 focuses on Osmania University infrastructure

The government plans to use the Rs 1,000 crore allocation for multiple projects. These include new infrastructure works. Authorities will also renovate old buildings.

Plans include construction of new hostel buildings. The university may also establish modern research laboratories. Digital libraries and smart classrooms are also part of the proposal.
