Hyderabad, Aug 12 (Maxim News): Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General C. Rajesh Pushkar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command of the Indian Army. On this occasion,
CM informed that the state government is ready to work together to encourage the youth of Telangana in various recruitments undertaken by the Indian Army. He requested that training programs be organized in suitable district centers that are interested in providing huge opportunities to the local youth in army recruitments. Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar responded positively to this. He expressed his willingness to set up training centers for the youth in the respective Telangana district centers before the various army recruitments to be conducted across the country.
The CM also discussed the role of the Army in disaster management. He asked the Army machinery to be more proactive in rescue operations, evacuation of people to safe places and rehabilitation activities in flood-affected areas of the state. Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar said that local Army officers will be instructed to take special initiative in disaster situations in Telangana.
On this occasion, Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar praised the ambitious Musi River cleaning project being undertaken by the state government. He said that the revival of the Musi River is necessary to protect the city of Hyderabad, reduce pollution and restore its historical glory. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, Major General Srinivas Rao and other senior army officers participated in this meeting. (Maxim News)
