Hyderabad, Aug 12 (Maxim News): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has ordered the collection of dues from defaulting rice millers in the Civil Supplies Department . He directed that a policy be formulated for the collection of dues. He suggested that a decision be taken after discussing this in a cabinet subcommittee. He directed that the main objective of the measures should be the collection of dues. He warned that blackmail from millers will not be tolerated.
The Chief Minister held a review meeting on the Civil Supplies Department at the Bodhi Pavilion of MCRHRD today (Wednesday). Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Stephen Ravindra, CMO Principal Secretary Seshadri and other senior officials attended the review. On this occasion, the CM directed the officials on various issues. The Chief Minister suggested that the possibility of taking over rice mills that have intentionally defaulted and have not paid their dues and handing them over to women’s groups should be examined.
CM Revanth Reddy directed that the godowns in the market should be utilized to the fullest extent. He clarified that if necessary, milling responsibilities will be handed over to women’s groups. He ordered that a pilot project be undertaken for the construction of godowns in 50 to 100 acres for women’s groups in five constituencies. He suggested that areas with high grain yields should be selected for the pilot project. He directed that funds from the Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme should be utilized for the construction of godowns. CM Revanth Reddy ordered that a nodal officer be appointed for each district.
