CRPF Strengthens Chhattisgarh Telangana Border Security
Hyderabad, Jan. 20 (Maxim News) : The CRPF has established two new base camps near Pamanur in Mulugu district along the Chhattisgarh Telangana border. The move aims to strengthen security and curb Maoist activity in the dense forest region.
Security forces also completed a new road from Morumuru in Vajedu mandal to the Karregutta hills. Within two months, teams constructed nearly 12 kilometres of road to improve access.
CRPF Inspector General Vikram said the infrastructure will enhance operational reach in remote border areas. IG Vikram said the Karregutta hills, once a Maoist stronghold, will be developed as a tourism destination.
Earlier, senior Maoist leaders used the dense forests as safe shelters. However, as part of anti Maoist operations, central and state forces conducted a 21 day operation in April and May this year. During the operation, security forces neutralised 31 Maoists in the surrounding forest zones.
The new base camps will help prevent Maoist movement, improve operational capacity, and ensure essential services for local villagers.
The CRPF also plans to develop the area as a specialised training centre to boost forest warfare capabilities. (Maxim News)
