Hyderabad, Jan. 20 (Maxim News): The Special Investigation Team on Tuesday continued questioning BRS MLA and former minister Harish Rao in the phone tapping case.
The first phase of questioning lasted for over three and a half hours, after which officials resumed the inquiry following a lunch break. Meanwhile, BRS leaders and party workers staged a protest outside the Jubilee Hills Police Station. They objected to police denying entry to Harish Rao’s advocates during the questioning. Protesters raised slogans against the police and the state government, alleging political targeting.
Amid the developments, Malkajgiri BJP MP Etala Rajender made strong remarks on the ongoing probe.
Speaking to the media at a city event, he said authorities must identify the real culprits in the phone tapping case. He stated that conducting an investigation was not wrong but stressed that the probe must remain honest and impartial.
Rajender further said the process should reinforce public confidence that no individual stands above the law. He added that anyone attempting to misuse power would face legal consequences. The SIT continues its inquiry as part of efforts to complete the investigation and establish accountability in the case. (Maxim News)
