Cultural Extravaganza and Book Release at MANUU

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) organized a mesmerizing Mushaira (Urdu poetry recitation) yesterday evening at the Open Theater as part of Azad Literary Fest Celebrations. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor was the Guest of Honour.

The Eminent poets – Prof. Wala Jamal El Esseily (guest from Egypt), Sardar Saleem, Waheed Pasha Quadri, Mahboob Khan Asgar, Kaukab Daki, Shareef Athar and poets from the university – Prof. Syed Alim Ashraf Jaisi, Dr Mahmood Kazmi, Prof. Muhammed Abdu Sami Sidheequi, Dr Aslam Parvaiz, Dr Iftikhar Hussain, Dr Shaikh Waseem presented their poems. Dr. Talha Farhan coordinated the program.

Cultural Extravaganza and Book Release at MANUU

A book release event featuring 23 books authored by MANUU’s faculty and researchers, covering various subjects in English, Arabic, and Urdu was also organized. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, and Prof. Rama Kondapalli, Director, IQAC graced the occasion. Dr. Ikramul Haque hosted the program, and Mr. Nisar Ahmad read a brief report on released books. Dr. Khandey Pervaiz Ahmed proposed a vote of thanks.

As a component of the commemorative programs, a book and photo exhibition is being organized at the Centre for Urdu Cultural Studies till November 11, 2023. The exhibition, curated by Mr Habib Ahmad, features rare photographs and meticulously replicated original letters written by Maulana Azad. A vast collection of books written by and about Maulana Azad is on display, providing insights into his life and times.
