Curb Corruption & End Garbage Problems: Ministers
Hyderabad, Feb.25 (Maxim News): Ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Sathyavathi Rathod today exhorted people and officials to wipe out scar of corruption and garbage problems.
Addressing a gathering at Warangal East, as part of Pattana Pragati program, the ministers expressed concern over rampant corruption and lack of cleanliness in the municipal areas. The 10-day program is to develop villages into clean and green areas, they said. They said the Chief Minister KCR has earmarked 10 percent funds for implementation of Haritha Haram program and therefore it is time for green drive and cleanliness.
They also said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was for transforming the towns with adequate funds. Like never before, the towns now get huge funds to achieve all round development, they said, adding that KCR plans to provide basic amenities to people in the towns as the number migrants was increasing day after day. They also promised to provide a dumping yard, cemetery, greenery expansion and sanitation facilities in the towns.
The ministers hoped the active involvement of people and officials in coordination with local leaders will prove handy. If 85 percent of the plants are not protected, the chairman and members will lose their posts, they warned. Therefore, involve people and ensure 85 percent saplings planted are protected, otherwise, the new Municipal Act will ensure their removal, the ministers warned chiefs of civic bodies. They also asked the officials concerned to remove power poles from the roads and erect them in corners to avoid danger. (Maxim News)
