CV Anand | Hyderabad, September 9: In a significant development, senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer C.V. Anand has re-assumed the role of Hyderabad police commissioner here on Monday.

Anand, known for his reforms and modernizing police operations, replaces Kothakota Sreenivas Reddy.

CV Anand’s previous tenure as Hyderabad police commissioner saw significant improvements in traffic management, law and order, and the fight against crime.

He is credited with implementing innovative strategies to enhance police efficiency and public safety.

With his return, the city of Hyderabad can expect a renewed focus on maintaining peace and security, as well as addressing the challenges posed by rapid urbanization and technological advancements.

Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy has been posted as the director general (vigilance and enforcement) as well as ex-officio principal secretary (general administration department). Vijay Kumar has been transferred and posted as director general, anti-corruption bureau, replacing CV Anand. He was earlier acting as the director general of police (Law and Order).

Mahesh M Bhagwat who is currently serving as the additional general of police (Law and Order) has been vested with full additional charge for the post of additional director general of police (personnel and welfare), till further orders.
