Hyderabad: Rolls Royce plans to expand its business in India by collaborating on fighter jet engine development. The company said it will develop a 120 kilonewton class fighter jet engine for India. This project will be taken up in collaboration with the UK government.

Rolls Royce stated that the fighter jet engine will be developed with full technology transfer. The co development will also include transfer of IP ownership. Meanwhile, Rolls Royce CEO Tufan Erginbiljic met Prime Minister Modi in this context. During the meeting, the CEO conveyed the company’s intent to work closely with India. He said that he wants to be a partner in India’s progress. The statement highlights the company’s long term interest in the Indian market.
