Cyberabad CP conducts an interactive meeting with the Industry on traffic situation

Hyderabad, July 26: Cyberabad Police Commissioner Mr Stephen Raveendra, IPS., &  Ramesh Kaza, Secretary General of SCSC along with other senior Police officials have conducted an interactive meeting with the IT, ITes, Pharma, Hotels & Hospital CEOs and other senior leaders from the industry to improve the traffic scenario in Cyberabad today.

Speaking at the interaction, Mr Stephen Raveendra,IPS., said “as part of  ongoing efforts to ensure safe passage during these incessant rains, Cyberabad Police has set up a control room and continuously following the IMD forecasts, monitoring the situation at the ground level –   identifying the water logging areas, monitoring all busy roads 24X7 through PSIOC by 8 teams, created 10 Emergency Response Teams for faster response.  To have more Police personnel on the road, close to 1800-2000 personnel were deployed and this number includes Law & Order police as well as Traffic police. He said the department is continuously monitoring the water logging areas and closely working with GHMC so that these are addressed immediately.  To ensure the public is updated continuously, department has  been posting the real time updates on traffic situation –  on Cyberabad police twitter handles, through electronic display boards and WhatsApp messages etc so that the public can follow them and avoid congested roads.

Mr Stephen Raveendra,IPS., has thanked the Industry for implementing the advisory sent to all the organizations suggesting staggered logouts of employees in a phased approach and advising them that only roles that can’t be handled WFH to come to office has really worked on 25th July and hoped that till the monsoon fury abates, the same approach to be continued for some more days. He advised the office goers to get into car pooling, wherever possible use the Metro and public transport effectively  and this would help reduce congestion on roads.  

SCSC General Secretary Mr Ramesh Kaza, in his address said that SCSC has been playing a pivotal role in organizing this kind of interactive sessions, so that the industry would get to know what Police has been doing at the ground level and  would also have an opportunity to understand what kind of challenges  Police have been facing while dealing with the situation created by incessant rains. He thanked the industry for positively responding to the advisory issued by police on staggered timings and requested the industry to seriously explore the option of car pooling.  He said in future interactions, SCSC would also involve GHMC on civic issues, TSRTC to address any public transport issues.  He requested the industry folks to join the traffic volunteers team and be part of the team that is helping the traffic police by regulating the traffic.

Mr Harshavardhan, DCP Traffic has further explained the reasons behind advising the industry on phased logout timings suggested and how it has helped the employees to reach home without much hassles on 25th July and requested the industry follow the same till the monsoon fury is abated.

The meeting was attended by senior police officers, Additional Commissioner Mr Avinash Mohanty, IPS., Joint Commissioner of Traffic, Mr Narayana Naik, IPS, DCP Traffic 1, Mr Harshavardhan, IPS, DCP Traffic II Mr Srinivas Rao, DCP Madhapur Mr Sandeep, ACP Mr Raveender Reddy and all the traffic SHOs from IT Corridor Mr Narsiah, Mr Rajasekhar Reddy, Mr Srinath etc have attended the review meeting.
