Defreeze Accounts Mela Provides Relief to Innocent Account Holders
Cyber Crimes DCP T Sai Manohar said investigators freeze suspicious accounts quickly to prevent diversion of funds.

However, verification later showed that some accounts belonged to individuals with no role in criminal activity.
Therefore, police conducted a focused verification drive. Officials examined nearly 110 accounts frozen through the portal system.
They checked account holder identities, transaction records and supporting documents. After detailed scrutiny, police cleared eligible accounts and completed the defreezing process through due legal procedure.
The DCP said the Defreeze Accounts Mela ensured timely relief to genuine account holders.
At the same time, it allowed investigators to focus on organised cyber criminals.
He also advised citizens to immediately dial 1930 or file complaints at cybercrime.gov.in if they face cyber fraud.
Moreover, he warned the public not to share OTPs, passwords or bank details with unknown persons.
ACP A Ravinder Reddy and Inspectors Raghavender, Shivaprasad, Ramireddy, Durga Ramalinga Prasad, Vijay Kumar and Madhu attended the event along with other officials. (Maxim News)
