Danger of Virus still exists: Minister

Hyderabad, March 16 (Maxim News): Minister for Medical and Health T Harish Rao has said that though the impact of corona decreased, the danger of virus still existed and hence everyone should take the vaccination and cooperate with the Government.

Inaugurating the 50-bedded CHC and vaccination of 12 to 14 years children at Kharatabad here, the Minister stated that he was happy to provide vaccination to kids of 12 to 14 years on the National Vaccination Day today. People should not think that the third wave of corona has not shown impact and hence there was no need for vaccination. Reports say that new cases are coming up in China, Hong Kong and USA. world Health Organization is alerting all the countries and hence there was need for everyone to take vaccination, he added.

Harish Rao said that out of the three vaccines available, two are from Hyderabad only and it is a matter of pride for us. The second vaccine that is being produced in the city, Corbovax, is being given to kids in the age group of 12 and 14 years. He complimented Biological E company Managing Director Mahima Datla, who has many achievements to her credit. Wishing her more achievements, he said the Government would extend its cooperation in her efforts.

Harish Rao explained the progress of vaccination in the State and said the parents of minors in the age group of 12 and 14 years should take the initiative to get their wards vaccinated. It is estimated that there are 17 lakh children in the age group. Vaccination is available in Primary health centres, urban primary health centres and basti dawakhanas. He said third booster dose is being given for people above 60 years from today. He complimented the Asha workers who are working relentlessly for the success of vaccination programme. Their services will definitely get recognition, he added. (Maxim News)
